On Giving and Thankfulness

On Giving and Thankfulness

giving and thankfulnessA Quote to Carry You

“The more I give, the more thankful I am.”  Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

On giving and thankfulness – There are many things going on in our world today that sadden my heart.  Sometimes even just hearing about all of the anguish, strife and suffering that continues to grow throughout our nations is so overwhelming that it threatens to steal my joy.  Not only that, but I often feel inadequate to make a difference; to help in a significant way.  When it comes to giving and thankfulness, however, I find my solace.

The more I give, the more thankful I am.  In fact, it is in giving, that I receive.  There is something about giving that fills my heart and fuels my joy more that any other activity that I engage in.  When I literally see a face brighten, or read words of thanks that express how much my efforts are appreciated, I receive so much more than I can ever give.

During this season of giving and thankfulness, may you receive an abundance of joy as you give  of yourself to others.

Wishing you a very Happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

Peace and love,

Felecia

On Going Home

On Going home

on going homeA Quote to Carry You

“Sometimes [going] home and sleeping in your childhood room is all the rejuvenation your body and mind needs.”  Alexia Danielle

There is much wisdom in that simple statement isn’t there?  With the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching, I am sure that we can all relate to the simple pleasures of just going home.  An excitement like no other builds as we think about being around family members and friends that we don’t get to visit with often enough.  Going home and being surrounded by the things that are so much a part of who we are does trigger a sense of rest and relaxation deep within us as well.  This year I plan to spend the holiday with my two sister, Marjorie and Andrea, and I can’t wait to see them!  Are you counting down the days, like I am?

I wish you much rest and rejuvenation while enjoying the very best of times with your family and friends…and prayers for safe travels going home!

Peace and love,

Felecia

And Christ, The Lord is born!

And Christ, The Lord is born!

And Christ, The Lord is born!

“And there were in the same country shepherds watching, and keeping in the night watches over their flock.  And, behold an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the brightness of God shone round about them; and they feared with a great fear.  And the angel said to them; Fear not; for behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people: For there is born to you this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ The Lord.” (Luke 2:8-11)

I am listening to the grandeur and beauty of the music and lyrics of Handel’s Messiah this very moment as I write these words.  Oh how it makes my heart swell with gratitude and thanksgiving for God’s greatest gift, which He bestowed upon all of mankind! Continue reading

Reflections

Reflections…turning back, looking ahead, where do we go from here?

Life

Life is full of surprises,

life is mundane,

life is fresh

and sometimes so plain.

But whatever life holds for you,

it is your own…live it to the fullest.

Never waste a single moment, for life is a gift.

Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Being the day after Thanksgiving, I can’t help but reflect upon what my life has been up until now.  At the same time, my eyes are wide open, full of anticipation of what awaits my life in the future.  What is past is safely locked away in my memory, but the door to tomorrow is wide open.  I think of the reflections of nature that hover over the ripples of a pool of water, when  a drop of rain splashes life into it.

I feel kind of like that right now.  Still, quiet, not wanting to move, just embracing the solitude of the moment.  Yet, there is something inside of me that is ready to burst forth, ready to stir my being into motion.  Standing before a mirror, my own reflection staring back at me.  Looking beyond myself to see what is behind me, which is actually ahead of me. An interesting perspective…peeking into both the past and the future all at once.

Reflections….turning back, looking ahead…where will you go from here?

Peace,

Felecia

Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving

Giving Thanks…a special thanks for all of the blessings of this life.

Giving Thanks

Giving thanks for so many things,

for the beauty that surrounds us,

for the work that satisfies us,

for the rest that restores us.

Giving thanks for all that we are,

and for all that we can become,

for the love and caring that is shared

between family and friends.

Giving thanks for the things that are from above,

for all that we can see and experience,

and for what we may never understand.

This tribute, this expression of gratitude,

can never compare to all that I have received,

but it is sincere, and full of love.

Giving thanks from deep within my heart.

Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  I Thessalonians 5:16-18

May blessings from above abound this day…Happy Thanksgiving!

Peace and love,

Felecia
