Three Little Words

Three little words…made all the difference to her world.

“When he wanted to take her picture, he didn’t tell her to smile, but he told her ‘I love you’ and her smile was more beautiful.”  Author Unknown

Three Little Words

There’s something different in the way she walks;

there’s a buoyancy, a lightness in her every step.

She giggles at the silliest things;

her smile radiates the space around her.

Nothing troubles her; her feet seem never to touch the ground.

What is it? What makes her whole being sparkle?

Three little words, “I love you,” that were spoken to her;

made all the difference to her world.

Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

It’s amazing to me how three little words can emit such powerful feelings of excitement, create such a sense of belonging and purpose, and fulfill so many  desires longed for, that they cause the recipient to beam.  Few things in life can cause such a reaction.  Few things can instill an intensity of emotion that can actually stimulate an illuminating vibrancy that is evident both physically and mentally.  “I love you,” three little words; that’s all it takes.

Don’t take my word for it…say those three little words to the one you love and find out for yourself.

Peace and love,

Felecia

Going Through It

Going through it

“Fontainebleau Forest,” early 1860’s, Eugene Cuvelier. Image from a page of the 2015 Desk Calendar, courtesy of The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store

Going through it…it’s not about constantly looking back, thinking of what could have been, or why it’s not…

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” (Author Unknown)

Going Through It

It’s not about living life day after day,

hoping that things will always go your way.

It’s not about dreaming so hard, that all you do is sleep…

It’s about going through it.

It’s not about constantly planning.

trying to keep your life under control.

It’s not about trying to keep difficulties from happening…

It’s about going through it.

It’s not about constantly looking back,

thinking of what could have been, or why it’s not.

It’s not about being afraid to step out into the future…

It’s about going through it.

It’s not about trying to be something you’re not.

pretending to be someone one you were never meant to be.

It’s not about trying to please others; they don’t determine your self-worth.

It’s about going through it…living the life that is “you.”

We cannot always know what life will offer to us.  Whether the terrain is bleak, or full and lush.  We rarely have any other choice except going through it.

May you always have the courage to face any challenge and accept with open arms any opportunity that your life is blessed with.

Peace and love,

Felecia

Those Solitary Moments

Solitary moments

Those Solitary Moments – How rich they are at twilight and even more beautiful at dawn.

“There is something eerily peaceful about quiet times alone; like the calm before the storm.”  Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Those Solitary Moments

Those solitary moments,

when all is quiet, and faraway sounds seem to be near.

Those times should be embraced, for in them there is nothing to fear.

Sit still, and take in before you, the splendid panorama displayed.

Imagine yourself to be a part of them; do not let them quickly fade.

Those solitary moments,

oh, why are they so few and far between?

What is it that they provide for us?  From them what can we glean?

Sometimes they are mysterious; they are here and no sooner, they are gone.

But how rich they are at twilight and even more beautiful at dawn.

Solitary moments can provide so much for us long after we’ve actually experienced them.  May you absorb your solitary moments, tuck them away in your mind, and relive them when you most need them.

Passing Through Borders

passing through borders

“Landscape With a Sunlit Stream (Detail),” 1877, Charles-Francois Daubigny. Image from a page of the 2014 Desk Calendar, courtesy of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Store

Passing through borders, it’s never too late, time has no limits when it comes to true fate.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be buried; the flames will not set you ablaze.”  (Isaiah 43:2)

Passing Through Borders

Passing through borders one by one,

those things in life that cause me to come undone.

What power they have and seem to hold over me;

they are real and true, only if I allow them to be.

Nothing in life is too difficult to face,

for God promises to help me to win the race.

Each step I climb thorough life’s muck and mire;

He is there to help me fulfill my heart’s desire.

Passing through borders, it’s never too late,

time has no limits when it comes to true fate.

From darkness to light, He leads me through,

for is there anything that He cannot do?

From the time I was born, and even now as I am grown,

through each phase of my life, God’s unending love He has shown.

His love for me is limitless, no borders can hold it back.

Therefore, under His care there is nothing that I lack.

Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

Passing through borders, those things that limit us in life, takes courage and determination.   Yet even when we try our hardest, can we ever realize our full potential on our own?  All I know is that with God all things are possible and in Him all goodness abounds.

Peace and love,

Felecia

Emerging, Yet Unfinished

Emerging, yet unfinished

“Emerging,” 2015, graphite pencil drawing by Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Emerging, Yet Unfinished…I am emerging, yet still unfinished.  I am realizing more about myself than I ever have in the past.

“Yet you, Lord, are our Father.  We are the clay, you are the potter, we are all the work of your hand.”  Isaiah 64:8

Emerging, Yet Unfinished

I am emerging, evolving, becoming.

I am in a place where I’ve never been before.

I am emerging, coming out of my shell.

I am traveling toward the place where I am meant to reside.

I am emerging, yet still unfinished.

I am realizing more about myself than I ever have in the past.

I am emerging, I am excited about who I will become.

I am not certain what my final picture will look like, but that’s okay.

I am emerging, and for now, that’s all I need to be.

I know that when I am complete…I will be the true me.

Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

Life never stands still and neither do we.  In fact, we are constantly emerging, evolving, becoming the persons we may never have thought we would be.

Who is it that your life is shaping you into being?

Peace and love,

Felecia

Love – What’s in a word?

Love - What's in a word?

“The Parting of Lancelot and Guinevere,” 1874, Julia Margaret Cameron. Image from a page of the 2013 Desk Calendar, courtesy of The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store

Love – What’s in a word?

“Love encompasses so much, it cannot be put inside a bottle.  No, love needs to be scattered all over the world, so that everyone can share a part of it.”  Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

Full, luscious, desirable, sweet,

Love is a feeling that cannot be beat!

Warm and fuzzy, a sensual kiss,

Love is something you won’t want to miss!

Affection, fondness, attraction, desire, tenderness, devotion, of the heart, romance, bond…

Love…what’s in this word for you?  If you can tell me, please do!

Love to me means fullness and life, for both are born out of love.  My heart feels as though it may burst when love fills and resides within it.  My being feels alive with renewed vitality when love surrounds me.  Love truly has the power to change any circumstance into the most beautiful thing in the world…

May the love that fills your heart create a beauty of its own…when you share it with another.

With love,

Felecia

Birds of a Feather – Aloha and Angel

Birds of a featherBirds of a feather, Aloha and Angel they are…their chirping and singing can be heard from afar!

Birds of a Feather

Birds of a feather,

Aloha and Angel they are.

Their chirping and singing

can be heard from afar!

Birds of a featherAloha is quite lovely,

with her feathers of soft blue.

She’s so exciting to watch,

especially when she lays an egg or two!

Birds of a featherAngel is white and fluffy,

he truly resembles a cloud.

His song is so contagious,

before long, you too will be singing aloud!

Birds of a featherBirds of a featherBirds of a feather,

Aloha and Angel, they make quite a pair.

They inspire such beauty, energy and life.

Thank you feathered friends, for all that you share!

On the Horizon

On the Horizon

Photograph courtesy of Lisa Richter

On the Horizon, a vision so vast, skies the limit, not looking back to the past…

“The time has come to face the music, no more rehearsals…life is for real.”   Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

On the Horizon

On the horizon,

a vision so vast,

skies the limit, not looking back to the past.

A freshness, a boldness,

what treasures to behold.

Like the colors of a sunrise; dazzling like gold.

On the horizon,

old things are washed away;

never forgotten, but not always meant to stay.

We are here today and gone tomorrow.

What then with our time shall we do?

Go forth, always seeking that which is true.

Felecia R. Webre 2014, OntheWingofaDove.com

When life puts you “on the horizon,” let it be a time of resiliency and growth…we only get one chance at life…make it worth living!

Peace and love,

Felecia
