In God I Trust

In God I trust…He knows my strengths and my weaknesses too, whenever I am in doubt, He shows me exactly what to do.

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”  Corrie ten Boom

In God I Trust

In God I trust, He is always there,

whenever I am happy, angry, delighted or in despair.

He knows my strengths and my weaknesses too,

whenever I am in doubt, He shows me exactly what to do.

In God I trust, He cares for me so well.

His love surrounds me so, it makes my heart swell.

I can’t imagine life without my God, My Savior, My Lord,

that would be a sacrifice, I simply cannot afford.

In God I trust, my future in your hands you hold,

no matter what happens, only good things have you’ve foretold.

I am here by your providence, move forward I must.

So, I thank you for all you are to me…in you I will continue to trust.

Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

The world can be a scary place.  There is so much more that we don’t know about it than we actually do.  Sometimes just thinking about what the future holds for me, or rather, not knowing what awaits me there, can stop me in my tracks.  How can I step forward, when I’d much rather turn back around and head the other way?  My answer is “in God I trust.”

May your future be securely grounded in a trust so powerful that all of your unknowns become fully known…trust in Him.

Peace and love,

Felecia

On Trust

On Trust

on trustA Quote to Carry You

March 30, 2015

“Perfect trust, perfect love, perfect peace, perfect joy!”  Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

On trust…To trust someone, you’ve got to know them and to know them you have to spend time with them.  Trust is the foundation for so much of what a relationship is.  I believe that having complete trust in someone leads to deep love for them.  In turn, a deep love between two people leads to an unshakeable peace that binds them even closer.  And of course, where there is peace…there is joy!  The perfection in all of these things comes when we put our trust in God.  May your trust, love, peace and joy be rooted in Him.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  Romans 15:13

Peace and love,

Felecia

Let the Good Times Roll!

Let the good times roll

This is the best photograph I could come up with that expresses how good I truly feel right now!

Let the Good Times Roll! Experience each one to the full.  Let laughter be the song for each day!

“It feels good to have something to celebrate.  It’s like life turns around and smiles back at you!”  Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Let the Good Times Roll!

Let the good times roll!

Celebrate when life is good.

Embrace that feeling and let your heart glow!

Let the good times roll!

Don’t keep your joy to yourself.

Smiles are contagious…share yours and find out!

Let the good times roll!

Experience each one to the full.

Let laughter be your song for each day!

Let the good times roll!

They are gifts that are meant to be opened.

So tear open the wrapping and enjoy!

Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

Good times may sometimes seem few and far between.  The “stuff” of life can weigh us down and take a long while to clear up and fade away.  Of course, I consider every day to be a blessing from God and I seek out the good things in each one.  There are days, however, when He opens doors of opportunity wide and good times rush right in.  Those are the times that cause my heart to fill up and burst with joy!  I am grateful for God’s goodness towards me…let the good times roll!

“Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.”  Psalm 23:6

May God’s goodness overflow in your heart today!

Peace and love,

Felecia

Passing Through Borders

passing through borders

“Landscape With a Sunlit Stream (Detail),” 1877, Charles-Francois Daubigny. Image from a page of the 2014 Desk Calendar, courtesy of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Store

Passing through borders, it’s never too late, time has no limits when it comes to true fate.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be buried; the flames will not set you ablaze.”  (Isaiah 43:2)

Passing Through Borders

Passing through borders one by one,

those things in life that cause me to come undone.

What power they have and seem to hold over me;

they are real and true, only if I allow them to be.

Nothing in life is too difficult to face,

for God promises to help me to win the race.

Each step I climb thorough life’s muck and mire;

He is there to help me fulfill my heart’s desire.

Passing through borders, it’s never too late,

time has no limits when it comes to true fate.

From darkness to light, He leads me through,

for is there anything that He cannot do?

From the time I was born, and even now as I am grown,

through each phase of my life, God’s unending love He has shown.

His love for me is limitless, no borders can hold it back.

Therefore, under His care there is nothing that I lack.

Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

Passing through borders, those things that limit us in life, takes courage and determination.   Yet even when we try our hardest, can we ever realize our full potential on our own?  All I know is that with God all things are possible and in Him all goodness abounds.

Peace and love,

Felecia

How Can We Know For Sure?

how can we know for sure

How can we know for sure? What is your standard that guides your life?

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28

How can we know for sure?  That is a broad question I know, but when it comes to discerning what is the absolute best for us, it encompasses virtually everything we do in life.  We make decisions constantly throughout each day.  Obviously, some are more important than others and they impact our lives in varying ways.  I do believe, however, that we all have some standard, an absolute foundation, upon which we base our decisions.  In fact, that standard is what guides us…period.

I remember how, as a young child attending Sunday School classes at church, I loved listening to all of the stories that were read to us from the Bible.  My mind would instantly fill up with vividly colored images of the people and places that were described in detail inside its pages.  Sometimes the words seemed to come to life as the characters acted out their parts on my private stage.  Although I could never really truly envision what God actually looked like, He was always there in each story guiding and instructing, protecting and providing for the Bible characters.  No matter how each story began, or what happened in between, I always knew that God would make everything work out well in the end.

Now, more than ever, there is nothing of greater importance than knowing what God’s will and purpose is of me.  For without His guidance and presence in my life well, I truly have no life!  When it comes to making decisions, or doing anything really, my foundation and standard for living is based on His Word, the Bible…it sustains me with life-giving hope.  Unlike when I was a little girl listening to the Bible stories, I don’t know what is going to happen “in between” my own life story.  Many things have happened thus far that I truly had no idea would.  But I can honestly say with confidence, that I know for sure, that God will make it all work out beautifully.

How do you know for sure?  What is your standard that guides your life?  If you haven’t an answer…I can assure you, the Bible is a good place to start.

Peace and love,

Felecia

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

“An Old Song,” 1874, William John Hennessy. Image from a page of the 2014 Desk Calendar, courtesy of The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store

“His Eye Is On The Sparrow” – That song brings back sweet memories for me…knowing that God cares so much, makes me feel light and happy and free!

“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?  Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.”  Matthew 10:29

“His Eye Is On The Sparrow”

“His eye is on the sparrow,”

that song brings back sweet memories for me.

Knowing that God cares so much,

makes me feel light and happy and free!

During times when I tend to worry,

and the times when I tend to fret.

Those words remind me of His love,

and life’s troubles I soon forget.

“His eye is on the sparrow,”

as God ceaselessly watches over the earth.

He has never taken His eyes off me,

not ever, since the moment of my birth.

“His eye is on the sparrow,”

His faithful love always sees me through.

That assuredness can be yours as well.

Turn it over to Him; He’ll care for you too.

Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

Freedom from worry is a wonderful thing.  Knowing for certain that nothing can take place in your life apart from the loving and protecting arms of our Heavenly Father…priceless.  That’s the kind of wealth that I seek…what about you?

Peace and love,

Felecia

Memories of the Past

Memories of the Past

“Memories,” photograph by Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

Memories of the Past

I Remember When

January 2015

“Memories of our lives, of our works and our deeds will continue in others.”  Rosa Parks

Memories of the past are interesting…two people can experience the exact same event at the same time, yet remember it completely differently.  Why is that?  Similarly, some people, like my late husband, have what can be described as a photographic memory.  They remember every detail about an occasion that happened years ago, while others can scarcely even remember that anything had ever happened at all.

It seems to me that memories of the past are different because people are different.  What we retain and commit to memory has a lot to do with who we are and how we view our world and others.  What we remember about a particular place in time can also be associated with a person, an object or current experience.  That phenomenon keeps ringing true to me when friends and loved ones express to me what they remember about my beloved Steve.

Many of his former colleagues remark time and again on how they remember Steve being a true example of what hard work and dedication is in the workplace.  His close friends often talk about how much they enjoyed conversing with him, especially because he had such a broad knowledge about so many topics.  His love for God and his devotion to serving Him is remembered by many through the constant witness to his faith that he lived.  Family members remember him as the son, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew whom they loved so dearly.

For me, my memories of the past about Steve are a little bit of all of the above wrapped into the most tender, caring and loving husband I could ever have.  Something else about those memories is that they seem to have the uncanny ability to keep him alive, in my heart at least…and for that I am grateful.

May your memories of the past stay alive in your heart too and become wonderful blessings to your present.

Peace and love,

Felecia

Learning to Fly

Learning to fly

Photograph courtesy of Ray Flanagan

Learning to fly – At times life appears to be a vast expanse of sky…that’s when it is time to take off and learn to fly!

“Hope is the thing with feathers.  That perches in the soul.”  Emily Dickinson

Learning to fly, that’s what I feel like doing sometimes.  Today the sky is crisp and clear.  There are no clouds cluttering the pale, blue sheerness that seems to go on for an eternity over my head.  At times life appears to be a vast expanse of sky.  Boundaries seem limitless, opportunities burst wide open.  That’s when it’s time to take off and learn to fly!

When I speak about learning to fly, I do not mean it in a literal sense.  What I am referring to takes place within us, when we decide to spread our inner wings and travel to the next stop on our life’s journey.  We all face those times when we have to decide whether to sink or swim.  Well, learning to fly is like that, except there is more to it.  Learning to fly can be complicated if we don’t have the proper equipment, or the right instructor.  Life is a journey in which we can’t always “do-it-ourselves.”  Sometimes, like learning to fly, we need the best help available if we want to reach our destination safely and on time.  How we prepare and who’s help we seek makes all the difference; don’t you agree?

For me flying is an enjoyable thing, and when it comes to my life, I really seem to soar when God navigates my way.  When my view is cloudy and I cannot identify what is ahead of me, God’s Word gives me clear direction and guides me through even the toughest situations.  When I feel as though my emotions are causing me to do a nose dive into my troubles, He surrounds me with those who will love and take care of me, which helps me focus heavenward again.  When I’ve come to the end of one leg of my travels, He provides, at the perfect time, just what I need to get rest and renewal before taking off again.

“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”  Leonardo da Vinci

May you turn your eyes heavenward as well, and see what God has in store to teach you.  Judging from my own experiences, I can assure you that you’ll enjoy learning to fly!

Peace and love,

Felecia
