When Faith Shines Through the Darkness – all that is hidden is revealed…

”The reason birds can fly and we can’t is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings.” —J.M. Barrie

When Faith Shines Through the Darkness

When faith shines through the darkness,

All that is hidden is revealed.

We don’t know what’s beneath the shadows…

Pain and grief can be buried deep and tightly sealed.

When faith shines through the darkness,

Not everything is clear.

Sometimes steps can lead down a spiral…

A glimmer of hope flickers, surrounded by fear.

When faith shines through the darkness,

A choice has to be made.

Light and darkness cannot coexist…

There is only one voice that must be obeyed.

When faith shines through the darkness,

There is no reason to despair.

For Jesus, has all the help you need…

His eternal light will guide you…your faith in Him will get you there.

Entrusting anything, your well-being, your loved ones, your material possessions, to the care of someone else can be scary.

No matter how well you think you know someone, when it comes to something that is important to you, you may feel that you are better off taking care of it yourself.  But what about when circumstances are such that you have no choice but to let others get involved?  Those times can feel like a dark veil has covered your eyes and all you can do is watch behind the scenes.  Faith can be described like that…when we believe in and trust in someone to such a degree that we are willing to give up control over our circumstances to them.  The important thing about faith is who we put our trust in.

”Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” —John 8:12 NIV

When faith shines through the darkness – there is only one person that comes to mind when reciting these words – Jesus!

As He tells us in the above verse from the Bible, Jesus is the light of the world.  Given that light and darkness cannot coexist, when we put our faith in Jesus, darkness is obliterated.  But, moreover, when we place our trust in Him, His light also gives us life…eternally.

Do you have doubts about who to trust; who to put your faith in?

When the darkness of life’s overwhelming circumstances over shadow you, consider the one who not only gives light, but is the light. Then your faith truly will shine through any darkness.

Peace and love,

Felecia

Beyond This Life

beyond this life

Beyond this life there is something more.  What awaits us there, we cannot ignore.

“However, as it is written:  ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.'” 1 Corinthians 2:9

Beyond This Life

Beyond this life there is something more.

What awaits us there, we cannot ignore.

Will there be still, silence, and darkness as in the night?

Or will God’s peace surround us in His supreme light?

Beyond this life is something to consider you and I.

Death is a part of life; that we cannot deny.

It need not be something of which we are afraid.

For each and every one of us, the price of death has already been paid.

Beyond this life, when we entrust ourselves to God’s love and care,

There awaits us a place that is beyond compare.

There, all darkness fades into light,

Tears are wiped dry and all is bright.

Beyond this life, the Lord has prepared for you and me,

A place where every knee shall bow, in the presence of His glory.

There, He put an end to turmoil, anger, and strife,

For Jesus promises only peace and joy in His gift of eternal life.

With Halloween just around the corner, it’s hard not to think about the reality of death. The imagery of graveyards, skeletons, the Grim Reaper, and other scary references to the end of life’s cycle that appear during this time of year certainly do paint a dark and hopeless picture of what lies beyond this life.  At the very least, it seems to be something to be avoided at all cost.  No matter how frightening death is made out to be, it is something that we will all inevitably face.  The good news is, that what lies beyond this life need not be something to fear…it needs only to be accepted.

“For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21

For those who have accepted the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, what God has prepared beyond this life is so incredible we cannot even fathom it.  It is not something to avoid, but something to embrace.  We have nothing to lose, but everything to gain. It is something freely given, born out of perfect love, and it can never be taken away…it is ours for all eternity.  If you haven’t seriously thought about what awaits you beyond this life, I encourage you to consider what will be there awaiting you when turn to Jesus Christ and accept Him into your heart.

May your heart be filled with sustaining hope and joy in knowing that in Jesus Christ, unimaginable blessings await you beyond this life…and all eternity.

Peace an love,

Felecia

Making Your House Your Home

Making your house your home

Making your house your home. Home is where my heart is content…

“The Crown of the house is Godliness.  The Beauty of the house is Order.  The Glory of the house is Hospitality.  The Blessing of the house is Contentment.” (Old Inscription)

Home

Home is where I lay my hat,

I let my hair down and I rest.

In no other place will I find,

so much of what in my life is the best.

Home is where I feel secure,

where I laugh and cry aloud.

I can dance and sing and shout for joy,

for there I am hidden as under a cloud.

Home is where my heart is content,

and forever there God promises t o reside.

For it is He who fills each room with the love,

peace and joy, that my heart happily holds inside.

Making your house your home is not as easy as it sounds.   In the fast pace of living that we all experience to some degree or another, “home” sounds like something far off in the distance.  Is making your house your home, one filled with the appealing attributes described above really attainable these days?  Is it really even desirable?

I think for all of us, the answer is YES!  As humans we have basic needs:  comfort, security, love, and a sense of purpose and belonging.  Those needs must be fulfilled in some way in order to make us whole.  Making your house your home, is certainly a good place to start.  This holiday weekend many of us will be out and about traveling to visit loved ones, shopping for that perfect Christmas gift, and enjoying the excitement that’s in the air.  But isn’t it a good feeling to know that at the end of the day, you’ll get to return to that warm and cozy, welcoming place that you call home?

I encourage you to fill your house with beautiful things, so that your eyes are filled with delight and pleasure there.  Welcome others into your house for a time of sharing the good things that you have to offer them.   Take care of your house, keep it clean and in good order so that you can relax and rest peacefully there.  And in all these things, be contented to spend quality time there no matter what.

Lastly, and what I believe is the true key to making your house your home…invite God into your home and into your heart.  For when He is there, filling every room with the love that only He can give, your home will not only be your house, it will be in your heart.  And God will reside with you there for all eternity.

“The house of the righteous stands firm.”  Proverbs 12:7

Peace and love,

Felecia

Infinity – What’s in a word?

Infinity

“Infinity,” charcoal drawing (reversed), by Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Infinity – What’s in a word?

The Alpha and the Omega.

The beginning and the end.

From the start to the finish.

What it takes a lifetime to spend…

Never ending, continuous, forever, horizon, eternity…

What’s in this word for you?  If you can tell me, please do!

Just thinking about infinity sends my mind far beyond tomorrow, way into the future.  To never cease to exist; to go on forever; to never end. It seems other worldly in a way…perhaps it is.  Something to think about isn’t it?

Peace,

Felecia
