A dear friend of mine once asked me what I thought about God, as related to His creation…
Love, the heart of the matter.
In my opinion, the human body is the most incredible of all created things…for it was created in God’s image. In His image; what an awesome thing to ponder. We cannot comprehend it, yet, we are wonderfully made. We do not understand love, yet we give and take it freely. Take any part of the human body...the heart, for instance. We not only view it as a physical, tangible thing, but we associate it with that most wonderful emotion, love. How incredible is that? To think, that we somehow associate love, with the one organ that is essential to life. Take it a step further, it truly is the foundation of our very existence. “For God so “LOVED” the world…” Can you even grasp the magnitude of that? The power, the life, the essence of that?! We can survive without many things, but I believe that we can only and truly thrive where there is love, and where it abounds.
“I do not think that there is anything in life that causes more joy, and pain, than love.”
Felecia R. Weber
Love is woven into the fabric of our lives in many ways. The passionate affection shared between a newlywed couple. The fiercely deep and protective feelings a mother has toward her newborn baby. The tireless devotion a child provides to her aging parent who can no longer live alone. And when that special person is forever gone from sight, it is love that clings so tightly to the memories that keeps them alive and never forgotten. The human heart, feels all of it, from elated joy to piercing pain; from the times of overflowing fullness, to the times of the most bitter brokenness. As the heart pumps life-sustaining blood through our veins; so does love flow through us, keeping our relationships alive.
It is something to think about isn’t it? May you always love deeply and fully, and may your heart always reflect that love to others.
