Laugh!

Laugh!

“Curious Puppy,” meet Halo Rose, our sweet little friend who belongs to our dear friends Dick & Marilyn Hill. This photo was taken during the first of many of her excursions in the snow.

Laugh a little or a lot…but do it often; it’s good for the soul!

“A  joyful heart is good medicine…” Proverbs 17:22

Laugh!

Do it a little, or do it a lot,

Laugh!

“Gotcha!” Halo wrestling with her big sister Penny Sparkle”…I think she won!

sometimes a good laugh just hits the spot!

Life can be serious, wearisome, and a bore.

A chuckle can brighten and so much more!

Those silly things that cause you to smile,

can make all of the difference, and keep you happy for a while.

Go on have a laugh, it is good for your soul.

Laugh!

“Mommy’s Little Helper,” Halo’s days are not all play…she helps out whenever she can!

And when you are broken, it’s  the glue that makes you whole.

A hearty laugh cheers you when you are blue.

A smile is contagious, see for yourself …find out if it’s true.

A Happy Day to you!

Felecia

Laugh!

“Naptime,” Halo taking a snooze…dreaming up more mischief perhaps? 🙂

Searching

Searching

Searching for something, not sure what I’ll find…

Searching

I’m searching for something,

I’m not sure what I’ll find.

Could it be way into my future?

Or what I’ve simply left behind? Continue reading

The Tempter

The Tempter

“King Lear,” Act I, Scene I (Detail), 1898, Edwin Austin Abbey. Image from the 2013 Desk Calendar, courtesy of The Metropolitan Museum of Art Store

The Tempter…seductive, alluring, he’s familiar to all; watch your step, be on guard, he may cause you to fall…

The Tempter

His motives are dark, insidious and mean,

he tempts us, he tricks us,

yet he’s not visibly seen.

He’s crafty, he’s clever,

who’d claim him a friend? Continue reading

Show Me Your Love

Show Me Your love

“Love Bouquet,” photograph by Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Show Me Your Love…and when you do, what will it look like?

When I wrote this poem, it wasn’t directed at one person, but it spoke to a host of feelings that I’ve experienced over my many years.  The intimacy of love of any kind, whether it be between lovers or the best of plutonic friends, is such an overwhelming thing.  I believe that love is an absolute necessity for every life, yet it is one emotion that can be the most difficult to master…when giving and receiving it. Interpretations

Interpretations

“Visions of Me,” a self-portrait, photograph by Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Interpretations…what we see through our unique vision are our own interpretations of life.

“Life isn’t about finding yourself.  Life is about creating yourself.”  George Bernard Shaw

Interpretations

Things aren’t always as they seem,

sometimes they only reflect a dream.

For whom we are deep down inside,

that is something not easy to hide.

A vision one sees springs to life from within.

Go on, let it be free, let it begin.

It is yours alone, it is all that you make it.

Only you know exactly how far you can take it.

What is this likeness, this creation you’ve made?

An interpretation of life, a new foundation laid.

Who Is She?

Who Is She?

“Who Is She?, a photograph of my niece Leia Gabrielle

Who Is She? Do we really know ourselves as well as we think?

Who Is She?

Is she frail, vulnerable, quiet and shy?

Is she childlike, inquisitive, and always asking why?

Is she dark, aloof, and mysteriously unknown?

Is she confident enough to stand all on her own?

Is she full of life? Does she have vigor for it?

Will she embrace and use her talent, or simply ignore it?

Is she one who will strive for good and not fall?

No matter the cost; even if asked to give her all?

I wonder, who she is; given the chance to prove,

Will her inner love and compassion cause her to move?

To love others deeply; to give of herself from her heart,

May she steadily seek these qualities and may they never depart.

Where There is Honesty

Where there is Honesty

“Honesty,” photograph by Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Where there is honesty…there is freedom…where there is freedom…we flourish.

Where There is Honesty

Where there is honesty,

there is trust.

Where there is trust,

there is freedom.

Where there is freedom,

there is fulfillment.

Where there is fulfillment,

there is wholeness.

Where there is wholeness, Continue reading

Awakening

Awakening

“Madame X (Madame Pierre Gautreau),” Detail, 1883-84, John Singer Sargent. Image from a page of the 2013 Desk Calendar, courtesy of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Store

Awakening…a discovery, starting anew, a time full of vision and hope.

Awakening

From behind the curtain,

With boldness and grace,

She glides onto the stage…

Awakening

“How Beautiful!” “Gorgeous!” “So elegant!”

The audience applauds her appearance.

“Is it me they speak of, and not someone else?”

Awakening

She opens her mouth; all eyes are upon her.

Her words soothe their ears like a song.

“What I have said, do they truly understand?”

Awakening

The last line is spoken; she begins to take a bow.

A tear forms in her eye.

“Is this all there is?  Is this the end of the story?”

Awakening

Life can seem so empty when we expect too much.

Many times things are not what they seem.

Keep searching though, do not give up hope…

Seek  the truth…for it is there your light shall beam…

Awakening
