On the Horizon

On the Horizon

On the Horizon, a vision so vast, skies the limit, not looking back to the past…

“The time has come to face the music, no more rehearsals…life is for real.”   Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

On the Horizon

On the horizon,

a vision so vast,

skies the limit, not looking back to the past.

A freshness, a boldness,

what treasures to behold.

Like the colors of a sunrise; dazzling like gold.

On the horizon,

old things are washed away;

never forgotten, but not always meant to stay.

We are here today and gone tomorrow.

What then with our time shall we do?

Go forth, always seeking that which is true.

Felecia R. Webre 2014, OntheWingofaDove.com

When life puts you “on the horizon,” let it be a time of resiliency and growth…we only get one chance at life…make it worth living!

Peace and love,

Felecia

Ezekiel!

Ezekiel

This is Ezekiel, the beautiful and loving Labradoodle, who belongs to my dear friends Pamela & Royal Starkey

Ezekiel! He puts smiles on faces that once were so sad.

“I believe that God defined unconditional love when he created dogs.”  Felecia R. Weber, On theWingofaDove.com

Ezekiel!

Here is Ezekiel and oh what a lad.

He puts smiles on faces that once were so sad.

Ezekeil

Ezekiel helps make reading a lot more fun!

Ezekiel

Ezekiel uses his therapy dog skills to help so many people feel better.

He’s such a comfort and he’s playful too;

how he loves to join in on the things his humans do!

Ezekiel

“Did someone say TREATS?!!”

Ezekiel

“Okay, are we cycling?…vroom, vroom!

Ezekiel

“…or driving the car?!!”

Ezekiel is curious, and in his own special way…

he’ll make you chuckle and always brighten your day!

Ezekiel

“Hmmm, okay…well, this is definitely not a toy, but can we keep it anyway?!!”

Ezekiel

“Tell the truth…how do I look?”

Ezekiel

The name Ezekiel means “strength of God,” and this loving and caring pooch certainly lives up to his name in the way he helps to strengthen the buoyancy of life in others. Thank you for your service to others Ezekiel!

Within Me

within me

“Awakening,” photograph by Felecia R. Weber 2013, OntheWingofaDove.com

Within me there is a light that guides me day and night…it feeds my soul…

“Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you.”  Deuteronomy 31:6

Within Me

Within me there is a light,

that guides me day and night.

Wherever I go, whatever I do,

it leads me in all that I pursue.

Within me there is a calmness,

it is what keeps my world steady.

It feeds my soul, I’m never lacking,

when called to serve, I am always ready.

Within me there is a boldness,

that keeps me courageous and strong.

Whatever my task, I shall not falter,

even though the road is rocky and long.

Felecia  R. Weber 2014, OntheWingofaDove.com

Lightness, strength, confidence, boldness, courage …Where do these qualities come from?  How can we experience them no matter what is going on around us?  What is “within” us that enables such a thing?  For those who put their trust in God, there is an assuredness that emboldens a desire to live life fully.  There is a vitality that beams around them.   His promises are true, He never forsakes us and we can trust Him completely to see us through whatever we face, good or bad.  His truth, His protection, His love, His saving grace…all of these things are within me.

Peace and love,

Felecia

The Power of Life

power of life

Photograph courtesy of my nephew, Zachary T. Weber

The power of life, the force of our being, that which makes us alive…

“The the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”  Genesis 2:7

The Power of Life

The power of life,

the force of our being,

that which makes us alive.

The physical body is only a shell,

but the power of life makes us thrive!

God breathed life into every soul,

each uniquely and wonderfully made.

Sacred, exquisite, a gift to behold;

life is precious and should never be betrayed.

The power of life, all that I do, all that I am…

God’s hand is in it, that’s true.

He gives me all that I need to grow,

to flourish in life…what about you?

Felecia R. Weber 2014, OntheWingofaDove.com

May your day be full of the power of life…live it to the fullest!

Peace and love,

Felecia

Flourishing Through Our Fears

flourishing through our fears

“No Fear In Me,” photograph by Felecia R. Weber 2013, OntheWingofaDove.com

Flourishing through our fears is not impossible; in fact, it is often times the best way to overcome them.

Fear is an emotion that we’ve all encountered in life.  Whether it be an uneasiness about what is awaiting us around the next corner, or some phobia that can be debilitating enough to interfere with our daily lives, fear is real and it affects all of us.  Of course, a healthy fear of something that will do us harm is a good thing, but what about those things that won’t harm us if we stand up and face them?  Can we flourish through our fears?

Flourishing Through Our Fears

Fear is dreadful when it takes hold of us,

causing us to tremble and scream.

The things we fear rob the peace from our days,

and invade our sleep when we dream.

Fear, you may ask, where does it come from;

the emotion full of darkness and dread?

Some say it is nothing, nothing at all.

For others it is all consuming instead.

Facing our fears, and not letting them grow,

in that way they can’t hurt us at all.

Turn them over to God, He will conquer your foe…

and He will help you never, ever to fall.

Felecia R. Weber 2014, OntheWingofaDove.com

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  Isaiah 41:10

Flourishing through our fears is possible indeed…especially when we remember that we never have to face them alone.

Peace and love,

Felecia

Abounding – What’s in a word?

Abounding

Abounding – What’s in a Word?

To flourish, to grow,

to go far beyond.

An endless supply;

never ever wanting for more…

“Be inspired, explore, reach higher…soar!”  Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Abounding…what’s in this word for you?  If you can tell me, please do!

Abounding to me means a richness and overflowing of something.  It seems we tend to want all that is good in life…whatever that might be to you or to me.  I personally never look forward to an abundance of troubles or anything that will cause me pain.  But you know, even when that is exactly what I get, the more of the tough times I go through…the more the good times follow.  To me, that’s abounding at its best!

May your day abound with all of the things that your heart is hoping for.

Peace and love,

Felecia

The Masks

The MasksThe Masks…they do not move, but they seem to speak; the hushed tones of their voices are bizarre.

“There are mystically in our faces certain characters which carry in them the motto of our souls, wherein he that cannot read A, B, C may read our natures.”  Sir Thomas Browne

When I was thinking of what to write about for this week’s theme on “faces,” a dream that I had a couple of years ago, which I refer to as “The Masks,” came to my mind.  To this day the dream puzzles me as it was so full of mystery that I still haven’t quite figured out its meaning.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I do not put a lot of stock in dreams…many of mine are likely conjured up from what I ate on a given evening or how a particular day went.  This particular dream, however, does still haunt my thoughts from time to time, and I wonder what it was trying to tell me…perhaps about myself.

The MasksThe Masks

An eerie feeling overcomes me

as I step inside the room.

The decor is bright and cheery enough,

but I have this dark, foreboding feeling,

and it’s filling my heart with gloom.

Straight ahead I see the bed, the table, the lamp,

the desk, along side the chair,

But then I turn and there they are!

The four harlequin masks gazing at me;

all with a unified stare.

Why are they here?  What do they want?

So theatrical they are.

They do not move, but they seem to speak;

the hushed tones of their voices are bizarre.

I turn away and leave them be.

I want no part of them, I don’t.

When I look back they’ve vanished, gone!

I should forget them…but I know that I won’t.

Although, “The Masks” have not yet revealed

what their true meaning is for me.

I’ve an idea that they each are a part of myself…

and perhaps that is the true mystery.

Mardi Gras’ Masquerade

mardi gras' masquerade

This is Mardi Gras, the dainty, little Papillon who. belongs to my dearest friends, Dick & Marilyn Hill.

Mardi Gras’ Masquerade,  oh my, he’s such a joy…

Mardi Gras’ Masquerade

mardi gras' masquerade

Mardi Gras, “jumping for joy!”

Mardi Gras’ masquerade,

oh my, he’s such a joy.

He’s quiet-natured, but don’t be fooled;

’cause he’s also a swift and sly boy!

Mardi gras' masquerade

Mardi Gras’ butterfly ears and beads.

A Papillon this dainty dog is,

his ears are butterfly shaped.

He’s light on his feet and so hard to catch,

sometimes though, he’s only narrowly escaped.

mardi gras' masquerade

“Okay, I’m ready for my picture to be taken, please!”

Mardis Gras’ masquerade,

He loves to dress up in his clothes.

You’d swear there is royalty in his blood,

for he’s so graceful from his head to his toes.

mardi gras' masquerade

“Catch me if you can!”

He loves to dart around the yard,

he’ll give his siblings a run for their money.

But when he’s nestled down for an afternoon nap,

well, Mardi Gras is just as sweet as honey!

“Yawn!…nite, nite.”
