9/11 A Tribute to Life; may we always remember and may we always be grateful.

I have recently returned from a brief visit with my family during the Labor Day holiday weekend. My mind is full, my emotions tossing to and fro.  I am happy to have had a chance to visit with those whom I love so much, yet sad that the time is already behind me.  The old African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child,” comes to mind as I remember excerpts of my life; the experiences that I’ve had and the people who have influenced my life, helping to make me the person that I am today.  It is hard to fathom how many acquaintances intertwine in one person’s lifetime.  My, how precious life is and how fragile. To be transformed

to be transformed

“Transformation,” photograph by Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

“To be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)

I have often pondered the valuable instruction that comes from this verse from scripture; to “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”  Granted, I have not always followed it; I am too stubborn and wanting to do things my own way so much of the time.  When I choose to take control and essentially, say to God, “I’ve got this, I can handle it,” those are the times that He leads me right back to this verse.  But it’s my mind, it’s my body, I argue and rationalize time and again.  However, when I think about it, I never really have or handle anything apart from my faith, and it is only when I walk in it, that my mind is renewed and I am transformed. Random Thoughts

random thoughts

Random Thoughts

My mind is scattered;

little broken pieces,

Thoughts racing ahead of me,

and they just don’t fit!

This way, that way,

where do I go next?

Stop for a moment?

There’s no time for that!

Always more to be done.

Will it ever end?

Now the day is over,

And another one has begun!

Let your light shine…

Let your light shine for all the world to see!

Sometimes when we face difficult circumstances, it is hard to see the proverbial  “light at the end of the tunnel”.  In fact, it may seem as though that tunnel gets deeper and darker.  It is only when we come out of those times that we realize the light was there all of the time…we just could not see it.

I’ve had my fair share of dark times, when I would not let my own light shine.  When I’ve only allowed it to flicker and cast long shadows over my days.  When my moods have created dark clouds that threatened to rain droplets of disappointment, fear and negativity over anyone I’d come into contact with.  It is during those time that I realize how dismal things can become, and I long the most for the brightness of happier times. For all to come

For all to come

“Right now you are busy preparing the way…for all to come…”

“…and He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. And there shall be night no more; and they need no light of lamp, neither light of sun; for the Lord God shall give them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 21:4 & 22:5)

For all to come…

Beautiful, dazzling, bright,
That’s what the world is in your sight.
No hope is lost, all dreams fulfilled,
Joy reigns in every heart. Continue reading

On conversation…

on conversation

On conversation, have words will travel…

The longer I live the more my hunger for meaningful conversation grows. To me it’s like climbing steps; each one takes me to a new height. There is always something new to learn, something new to share with others.  Sometimes having a good long chat can make me feel as though I’ve travelled to another part of the world.

“The happiest people are those who think the most interesting thoughts. Continue reading

Because I Love You

because I love you

“Yellow Magnolia Blossom,” colored pencil drawing, Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Because I Love You…there are so many reasons and so many ways…

Love and friendship, can you have one without the other?  I believe that both are essential for  any relationship to be true, to be real.  Love is the glue that holds a friendship together; without it, the relationship simply falls apart.

Because I Love You

How much do I love you?

Let me count the ways…

Cliche, cliche, cliche!

I don’t know what to say.

I don’t know how to feel. Continue reading

There is a time for everything

There is a Time for Everything

“Freedom”, graphite pencil drawing, Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

There is a time for everything.  I live in the northeast and our summer season is in full bloom.  The flowers in my garden have reached their peak; the grass is spotted with tan colored strands after so many days under the blazing sun.  I’ve even glimpsed some red hues staining the leaves of a few maple trees that dot the canvas of woods along my route to and from work.  These changes throughout this happy, care-free season have made me look forward to all of the things that autumn has in store for us to enjoy.
