Justice – What’s in a word?

Justice

Justice, like the laws of nature, spawns beauty and harmony within our world when it is nourished and balanced…

“Justice involves fairness and getting along well, without it, most surely our troubles would swell.  Keeping the peace, ensuring the rights of the free, without moral justness, where would our world be?” Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

Impartiality, equality, righteousness, morality, non-judgmental, justness…

Justice…what’s in this word for you?  If you can tell me, please do!

The more I think about the word justice and all it entails, the more I realize how important it is to making our society flourish.  Everyone has their own unique set of ideas and sense of morality.  They also have the right to exercise them within the boundaries set by governing bodies according to civil laws.  Justice, like the laws of nature, spawns beauty and harmony within our world when it is nourished and balanced…and it is up to each of us to uphold and perpetuate it; so it can do just that.

Peace and love,

Felecia

On Justice – A Quote To Carry You

On Justice

justiceA Quote to Carry You

January 19, 2015

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”  Martin Luther King, Jr.

When I think of the injustices that have been committed throughout the history of mankind, it makes me wonder how so basic a requirement for any civilization can get so far off course.  Justice is defined as moral or absolute rightness; the upholding of what is just.   As with anything, once even a small part of the whole weakens, it won’t be long before the entire thing breaks and falls apart, if the weakened part is not attended to.  Think of how our world would be if we all did our part to uphold what is good, just, and right…can you imagine that?

Peace and love,

Felecia

Learning to Fly

Learning to fly

Learning to fly – At times life appears to be a vast expanse of sky…that’s when it is time to take off and learn to fly!

“Hope is the thing with feathers.  That perches in the soul.”  Emily Dickinson

Learning to fly, that’s what I feel like doing sometimes.  Today the sky is crisp and clear.  There are no clouds cluttering the pale, blue sheerness that seems to go on for an eternity over my head.  At times life appears to be a vast expanse of sky.  Boundaries seem limitless, opportunities burst wide open.  That’s when it’s time to take off and learn to fly!

When I speak about learning to fly, I do not mean it in a literal sense.  What I am referring to takes place within us, when we decide to spread our inner wings and travel to the next stop on our life’s journey.  We all face those times when we have to decide whether to sink or swim.  Well, learning to fly is like that, except there is more to it.  Learning to fly can be complicated if we don’t have the proper equipment, or the right instructor.  Life is a journey in which we can’t always “do-it-ourselves.”  Sometimes, like learning to fly, we need the best help available if we want to reach our destination safely and on time.  How we prepare and who’s help we seek makes all the difference; don’t you agree?

For me flying is an enjoyable thing, and when it comes to my life, I really seem to soar when God navigates my way.  When my view is cloudy and I cannot identify what is ahead of me, God’s Word gives me clear direction and guides me through even the toughest situations.  When I feel as though my emotions are causing me to do a nose dive into my troubles, He surrounds me with those who will love and take care of me, which helps me focus heavenward again.  When I’ve come to the end of one leg of my travels, He provides, at the perfect time, just what I need to get rest and renewal before taking off again.

“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.”  Leonardo da Vinci

May you turn your eyes heavenward as well, and see what God has in store to teach you.  Judging from my own experiences, I can assure you that you’ll enjoy learning to fly!

Peace and love,

Felecia

Birds of a Feather – Aloha and Angel

Birds of a featherBirds of a feather, Aloha and Angel they are…their chirping and singing can be heard from afar!

Birds of a Feather

Birds of a feather,

Aloha and Angel they are.

Their chirping and singing

can be heard from afar!

Birds of a featherAloha is quite lovely,

with her feathers of soft blue.

She’s so exciting to watch,

especially when she lays an egg or two!

Birds of a featherAngel is white and fluffy,

he truly resembles a cloud.

His song is so contagious,

before long, you too will be singing aloud!

Birds of a featherBirds of a featherBirds of a feather,

Aloha and Angel, they make quite a pair.

They inspire such beauty, energy and life.

Thank you feathered friends, for all that you share!

On Flying

On Flying

flyingA Quote to Carry You

January 12, 2015

“You haven’t seen a tree until you’ve seen its shadow from the sky.”  Amelia Earhart

Flying…what comes to your mind when you think of it?  For me, I think of freedom, a lightness of being, as if I’ve entered into a realm like no other.  Indeed, flying isn’t something that comes naturally to us.  There are many who spend a lifetime simply stuck to the ground.  They look up at the sky, but never reach out far enough to embrace it.  For those who choose to sprout their imaginary wings…flying is filled with limitless possibilities!  The world looks completely different when seen through a fresh viewpoint.

Why not spread your wings today and experience your world through a whole new depth of vision…just imagine what awaits you!

Peace and love,

Felecia

Nothing Will Be Impossible For You

Nothing will be impossible for you

“Fill Me,” photograph by Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

“Nothing will be impossible for you.”  There is hardly a truer statement, for when we put our faith in God, nothing is impossible.

“They can conquer who believe they can.”  Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Nothing will be impossible for you” was a theme that lingered in my mind while I visited with my parents during these past holidays.  As always for me, being at my childhood home made me feel comforted and secure; as if nothing in the world could harm me.  Both of my parents have always gently encouraged me to seek, explore and to develop into the person God made me to be.  My recent visit with them was no different.  Their soothing  words affirming that I have much to give and that God has a unique purpose for my life filled me with a renewed confidence in my abilities.  By the time I’d loaded my little dog and our belongings into the car to return to New York, I felt ready to conquer this new chapter in my life.

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.  Nothing will be impossible for you.”  Matthew 17:20-21

“Nothing will be impossible for you;” do you believe that?  How is it that we can find confidence in such a statement?  The answer is not a difficult one, but it does require something of us.  When we strive to achieve something important in our lives, getting from point A to point B can seem like a foreboding mountain full of nothing but difficulties and disappointments.  It seems like no matter how many or how few resources we have, there is just no easy way to plow through that mountain of misery…it just seems impossible!  But wait!  There is more to it than that.

“Nothing will be impossible for you.”  There is hardly a truer statement, for when we put our faith in God, nothing is impossible.  God promises to supply all of our needs, and to see us safely through any situation…even moving mountains.  All we need to do is turn it over to Him and trust Him to do so…do you?

Peace and love,

Felecia

So, You Say

so, you say

Photograph courtesy of my niece, Leia Gabrielle

So, you say don’t try too hard.  But if I don’t dream…I will merely sleep.

“Life is meant to be lived…so live it!”  Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

So, You Say

So, you say I shouldn’t do that.

It’s not what’s expected.

But, what if I do?

Will the world fall apart?

So, you say it’s too risky.

What will others think?

But, what will others think?

Does that really matter so much?

So, you say slow down,

tomorrow’s another day.

But, what about today?

Why not fill it up fully first?

So, you say don’t try too hard;

that way you won’t be disappointed.

But, if I don’t dream…

I will merely sleep.

Felecia R. Weber 2015, OntheWingofaDove.com

Many times we have to follow our own instincts, that God-given voice that provides wisdom and guidance when we are not certain what to do.  Those whom we trust can provide valuable insight and advise…but ultimately it is your life to live. Taking risks; exploring territory that you’ve never even imagined; taking the plunge into something you’ve always wanted to try…life is meant to be lived…so live it!”

Be inspired, explore, reach higher…soar!

Peace and love,

Felecia

On New Beginnings

On New Beginnings

new beginningsA Quote to Carry You

January 5, 2015

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language, and next year’s words await another voice.  And to make an end is to make a beginning.”  T.S. Eliot

New beginnings…just saying the words fills me with a sense of hope and renewed vigor.  Tossing away the weight of the dinginess of the past year and opening my arms wide in fresh anticipation of the brightness that a whole new one has to offer…I say, let the doors of 2015 fly wide open!

May your new beginnings of the New Year be the best one yet!

Peace and love,

Felecia
