There is a time for everything

There is a Time for Everything

“Freedom”, graphite pencil drawing, Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

There is a time for everything.  I live in the northeast and our summer season is in full bloom.  The flowers in my garden have reached their peak; the grass is spotted with tan colored strands after so many days under the blazing sun.  I’ve even glimpsed some red hues staining the leaves of a few maple trees that dot the canvas of woods along my route to and from work.  These changes throughout this happy, care-free season have made me look forward to all of the things that autumn has in store for us to enjoy. God Came Down to Me

God Came Down to Me

“Pale Pink Cosmos”, Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

This poem was written by my niece and Goddaughter, Alexia, as a Christmas present to my husband and me several years ago.  I was very touched by it, because I know that it revealed so much of her heart.  Thank you Alexia, for being the precious niece that you are to me.

God Came Down to Me

A poem by Alexia D. Ghering

Each time I walked with eyes cast down

and felt too weak to reach God in prayer,

it was then, he came down to me,

As he watched my footsteps falter.

Within my heart, he poured out his grace,

and gave me strength to walk on farther; Continue reading

My God Is An Awesome God

My god is an awesome god

My God is an awesome God…my portion, my strength, my all.

I begin most days with prayer and meditation during my morning workouts.  The places my mind travels to while running those miles on the treadmill, set the framework for how I deal with whatever challenges I may face.  Recently, the verse from scripture below spoke to me and everything that it inspired within me, is what I’ve written in this poem.  May your day be filled with the things that inspire you as well.

“Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for The Lord God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6) Continue reading

Peace

Peace

What do you think of when you think of “peace?”  What imagery comes to your mind?  I recently went to a concert at the site where the original Woodstock Music Festival was held…the well-known “peace sign” spoke its message throughout that place.  At the burial site at my grandmother’s funeral, a flock of white doves was released into the air…I remember thinking of how “peaceful” they looked as they dressed the skies with their quiet beauty.  Sometimes, I think of it when the splendor of a breathtaking piece of music makes its way through my ears and into my soul, and I pause for a moment to let it serenade my heart with its melody.

Peace. It means so many things to so many people. Continue reading

Love, the heart of the matter

Love, the heart of the matter

“Tulips” colored pencil drawing, Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

A dear friend of mine once asked me what I thought about God, as related to His creation…

Love, the heart of the matter.

In my opinion, the human body is the most incredible of all created things…for it was created in God’s image. In His image;  what an awesome thing to ponder. We cannot comprehend it, yet, we are wonderfully made. Continue reading

Inspire me with what moves you.

Inspire Me!

“African Violets” Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Inspire Me…Tell me what moves you; what makes you feel alive.

It has been a while since I’ve taken the time to sit down and write. Words are far too precious to me, and not to be wasted, when I really have nothing to say.  Today I have a word, one that is multifaceted; one that to me, is alive!  What is it, you ask?    “Inspire”!

“Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.”  T.S. Eliot

“Inspire.”  It’s the kind of word that is meaningless, unless it is a part of something; unless it “brings forth”. I am inspired right now.  Creativity is flowing through my veins; it’s radiating through my fingertips!  Can you feel it?  What does it inspire in you?
