A Quote to Carry You

“Sometimes soaring simply means riding on the wind…let yourself go and see where your ‘wings’ take you.”
Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com
A dear friend of mine once asked me what I thought about God, as related to His creation…
In my opinion, the human body is the most incredible of all created things…for it was created in God’s image. In His image; what an awesome thing to ponder. We cannot comprehend it, yet, we are wonderfully made. Continue reading
Dance…Poetry In Motion
A body in motion,
A river flowing…
Connected, never far apart.
A figure swaying to her inner rhythm,
A trickling stream rushing toward the open sea,
Silence gives way to a single note,
The body awakens; the hint of a dance
The chord has been struck, there is no turning back,
Hear the music, breathe in the melody,
Linger there, let it guide you freely,
Can you feel it?
Take the first step, never regret it…
A promise never failed…live your dream,
Become it! Continue reading

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” Henry David Thoreau
By now, you may have noticed my fondness for quotes; those little nuggets of wisdom, humor, or just good common sense that I include in many of my posts. I have collected many quotes over these past few years and I am eager to share them with you. So, may I introduce to you a weekly series that I have chosen to call, “A Quote to Carry You.” It is here that I hope you will find a bit of inspiration, encouragement, or whatever it is you may need to get your week off to a pleasant start.
As always, I encourage you to comment as often as you wish; I always look forward to hearing from you!
Peace, Felecia
“I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music.” George Eliot
Out of all of the genres of music, classical, especially the rich, eloquent sound of a baroque era adagio, stirs my being the most. Oh what emotions clamor and peak, when the intense mingling of the strings of violins and cellos being beautifully played, filter through to my heart! When I nestle down before my drawing board, Continue reading
I wrote this poem on a whim after reviewing some scans of my pet portrait portfolio. This little girl, “April”, always puts a smile on my face; I hope she does the same for you. Go on, have fun, play…she’s waiting!
Romp, play, spin around,
Will you come and play with me?
Throw the ball and I’ll fetch it; I may even catch it!
Will you come and play with me?
I’ll chase my tail, I’ll make you laugh,
Will you come and play with me? Continue reading
It has been a while since I’ve taken the time to sit down and write. Words are far too precious to me, and not to be wasted, when I really have nothing to say. Today I have a word, one that is multifaceted; one that to me, is alive! What is it, you ask? “Inspire”!
“Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.” T.S. Eliot
“Inspire.” It’s the kind of word that is meaningless, unless it is a part of something; unless it “brings forth”. I am inspired right now. Creativity is flowing through my veins; it’s radiating through my fingertips! Can you feel it? What does it inspire in you?
A privilege, an honor
a treasure to behold,
to be a Father.
An awesome responsibility,
a blessing from above,
never be it taken for granted,
to be a Father.
A source of security, guidance, wisdom, strength,
