On God’s Blessings

On God’s Blessings

blessingsA Quote to Carry You

March 17, 2013

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

Luck, leprechauns, shamrocks, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow…whatever fills your thoughts today, may you be blessed by the peace and hope that only God can give.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

The Best of Times, The Worst of Times

The Best of Times

“Reflection in the Water,” photograph by R. Flanagan

The Best of Times, The Worst of Times

“There is a time for everything…There is a time to cry. And there’s a time to laugh. (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4)

The Best of Times, The Worst of Times

The best of times,

the worst of times,

somehow they all fall into place.

They can build us up,

they can tear us down.

What we do with them matters the most.

The best of times,

the worst of times,

they shape our stories, our passions, our work.

They can fill our dreams,

impact our hopes and our needs.

They can add meaning to our lives.

The best of times,

the worst of times,

Do you ever wonder where you’d be?

Without such experiences,

What would we treasure?

What would we forget? What would we keep?

The times in life that we remember the most, are the ones that were truly worth living.

Green…

What's in a Word - Green

“Green Hydrangea Buds,” photograph by Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

Green…What’s in a word?

Grass, lettuce, warmth, love,

happy, springtime,

streaming shades of green from above.

Shamrock, mint, nature, moss

there are so many word to describe this color,

I am not at a loss!

The love of God, the earth below,

pea soup, a golf course,

blades of grass peeking through the snow!

Now it is your turn,

what else have you heard?

Go on, the color green,

can you think of a word?

What’s in this word for you? Do tell me, please.

Given the soon coming of spring and St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, the color green was a natural pick for this month. There is a freshness about that lovely hue, there are so many shades of it; some more yellow others more blue.  Oh my, I can’t seem to stop rhyming .  What’s happening to me?  Perhaps there is magic in this color…try it for yourself and see!

Happy day!

On Luck and Chance

On Luck and Chance

on luck and chanceA Quote to Carry You

March 10, 2014

“Luck is not chance, it’s toil; fortune’s expensive smile is earned.”  Emily Dickinson

This quote reminds me of when I just staring out  in my life’s work.  I remember when my future boss asked me during an interview what it was that I was seeking in the position I was applying for.  My answer began with “If given the chance…”  I can tell you, after many years of hard work, that chance had nothing to do with luck.  When we are given a chance at something in life, it is up to us to take hold of it and turn it into what we hope for.

Peace,

“Laughing, smiling, having fun.  How I wish in this way all things could be done!” Felecia R. Weber, OntheWingofaDove.com

I’ve just realized that the gut-wrenching reflex that doubles me over when some news sends me into uncontrollable sobbing is pretty much the same reaction I have when something makes me burst out laughing so hard that I can’t seem to stop.  That happened to me just now…and I am happy to say that it was caused by laughter.

A Happy Day to you!

Something More

Something More

“Seagulls in Flight,” photograph by David Brown

Something more…personal growth sometimes feels like going into the unknown…something challenging, something intriguing…something more.

“Jonathan Livingston Seagull, unashamed, stretching his wings again in that trembling hard curve–slowing, slowing, and stalling once more–was no ordinary bird.” (Excerpt taken from the book Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach)

Have you given much thought about what you want out of life?  Your limits; what you are capable of?  What if you dared to go beyond…to find something more? These are pretty challenging questions I know.  We all have various roles that we play in our daily lives.  The demands of each day cannot be set aside, and we must tend to them. We go about fulfilling the tasks at hand sometimes automatically, with little effort or thought put into each activity.  Before we know it, the sun has set, night has fallen, and a new day is on the horizon….with its own set of challenges.  How can we possibly go beyond all of that? Searching

Searching

Searching for something, not sure what I’ll find…

Searching

I’m searching for something,

I’m not sure what I’ll find.

Could it be way into my future?

Or what I’ve simply left behind? Continue reading

A Quote to Carry You – February 24, 2014

A quote to carry you - february 24, 2014A Quote to Carry You

February 24, 2014

“Sometimes it is in the losing your way that you find your true self.” (paraphrased)

This quote has meant different things to me at different times.  In most cases, I’ve identified with it just as it is written; the meaning is clearly and obviously presented.  At other times, my focus has been keenly on the losing part.

Peace,

Felecia
